First day at our new school

We had our first day at our new school today.  We were both excited to be going there.
We are in different classes just like we were at MPS.
Our mum took a video of us each when we got home so we could tell you about our day.
(Apology from our mum - I took the videos on my mobile phone and did not have the phone turned the right way so you will have to turn your heads to see Samuel and Jacob!)

Holiday Fun

We have had a great school holiday relaxing in our new home.  We enjoyed not having to do a long drive to school each day.
We spent lots of time at home where friends came to visit us.
When the weather became warmer in the second week we tried out our swimming pool.  The water was very cold but we had lots of fun splashing about.
Samuel likes jumping in off the side of the pool.
Jacob likes doing a sitting jump from the side of the pool.
Both of them like to splash anyone else who is in the water!

Thank you to everyone who came along to Lantana Park after school yesterday and making it such a fun time. 
Thanks also to everyone who put up balloons and streamers, brought cakes and doughnuts and for those who organised this farewell get together for us.
Samuel and Jacob had a fab time and loved spending time with their friends.
It was great to see so many people there.

Question from Mitchell

When I dropped Samuel and Jacob at school this morning Mitchell in KS asked me a question, "When is Jacob starting at his new school?"
Great question Mitchell.

The boys will be starting at their new school - Good Samaritan in Fairy Meadow - at the beginning of next term, Monday 8th October.
Their last day at Marton Public School is this Friday, 21st September.

Tonight they tried on some of their new uniform.

It is very different from their Marton school uniform.

We have moved house

On 3rd August we moved house from Engadine

to Balgownie, in North Wollongong

 

 

We have been in our new house for seven weeks. We all love it. It has an outside deck and swimming pool

 

 





It has a great play area in the back yard.

 

Two weeks ago Jacob managed to climb up the ladder on his own. He was so happy with himself!

 

 

Why did we move to a different area?

 

1. Samuel and Jacob's dad works in North Wollongong. Now we live there he doesn't have to travel as far to work.  This means we get to see more of him which makes us all very happy.

 

2. Our house in Engadine had lots of steps and stairs which meant it was difficult for Jacob to move around and get to other rooms on his own.  Our new house only has steps at the front and down to the swimming pool. Jacob is now able to walk in his frame all over the house on his own.  This means he can move around when and where he wants to without having to ask anyone to help him.

 

3.   Samuel and Jacob have two younger brothers, Alex (5years) and Lucas (3years).  Alex has something called autism and he needs extra help with his learning.  We found a special school for Alex in North Wollongong which helps children who have autism.  There are only 6 children in Alex's class and 3 teachers.  This means Alex can get the extra help he needs so he can learn all the things you've been learning this year at school.  He started at this school at the beginning of term 3.  He is doing really well and is very happy there.
